An accident in Clay Township tonight claims the life a three-year-old girl.
Investigators say it happened at a home on state road 9-33, between and Auten and Brick when a woman was taking dinner to her husband and apparently ran over her young daughter as she was backing out of the driveway.
“We’re still piecing together everything that happened but it appears the little girl was hit, it appears to be an accident,” says Jamie Thirion of the St. Joeseph County Police.
The girl was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead and at this time, police are not releasing the victim's name.
