October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and on Monday, family and friends will remember three local victims who have lost their lives to domestic violence.
Community members will pay tribute to Barbara Sheppard, Deshone Carradine, and Trina Winston.
Purple Asters will be planted in the Memory Garden in front of the North Central Indiana YWCA.
The flowers join several others honoring previous victims since the facility opened in 2003.
The YWCA says domestic violence is a potentially deadly issue that should never be ignored. Anyone who needs help can call the YWCA's hotline at 866-YES-YWCA.
