Xavier Primm trial to begin Monday

South Bend, Ind. A man facing charges in the shooting death of a toddler heads to trial Monday.

Twenty-three-year-old Xavier Primm is charged with assisting a criminal in connection with the death of two-year-old John Swoveland Jr. back in April.

Swoveland was killed by a stray bullet while playing outside at his aunt's house on Campeau Street in South Bend.

Police say the shooting was gang related with the bullet coming from Coquillard Park about three blocks away.

A total of eight people are charged in connection with the crime.
