Woman accused of leaving baby in dumpster allowed to travel for work

Mishawaka, Ind. The woman accused of dumping her newborn baby in a Mishawaka dumpster will be allowed to travel for work.

Purvi Patel, 32, is charged with a class A felony, "neglect of a dependant, causing death"

Patel was seven months into the pregnancy when she reportedly took drugs to end it.

Medical experts say the child was born alive, weighing just one and a half pounds.

Purvi claims it wasn't moving or breathing, and she thought it was dead.
She was in court Wednesday morning for a hearing.

The judge in the case told Patel she must leave on a GPS monitoring device, but she is allowed to travel to Illinois and Michigan for work.

But, she must notify the department of corrections before she leaves.
