UPDATE: Woman injured in early-morning shooting

A woman was taken to the hospital after an early-morning shooting in South Bend.

It happened in the 400-block of South Sheridan just after 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, at the residence of a 20-year-old female and her boyfriend.

The woman was shot in the leg. Dispatchers tell us her injuries were not life-threatening.

According to police, there were four parties on foot down the block from where the shooting took place. Apparently, the victim's boyfriend, home at the time of the shooting, was possibly armed and may have fired the first shot.

The victim says her boyfriend's car tires were slashed outside of the residence.

Police are still investigating the crime and do not have suspects at this time.
