ELKHART, Ind. An Elkhart woman is accused of embezzling more than $100,000 from work.

Virginia Lacefield, 63, was a former accountant for Nextech Corporation.

Court documents allege Lacefield overpaid herself and her husband over the course of 4 years, to the tune of $135,000.

The company's owner found out after he logged into their automatic pay system to make a decision on pay increases.

Lacefield's husband says his wife likely gambled away most of the money.

She's now accused of theft, and faces up to eight years in prison if convicted.
