The child-neglect case involving Jacqueline Wilk which resulted in two hung juries will not go to trial a third time.
The St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s office filed a motion to dismiss the case on Monday and they have no additional evidence that would require another trial.
Wilk was being tried in connection with the deaths of her two sons on June 17, 2011. The first trial ended in a hung jury on February 8, 2013. The case was brought to trial again, but ended in another hung jury on June 7, 2013, despite new evidence being presented.
The Court approved the motion to dismiss and consequently, the hearing set for Tuesday, June 18, 2013, has been vacated.
