It was no surprise that it did happen but for Irish fans, its always nice when the official word comes down.
Both basketball star Jerian Grant and football wide receiver DaVaris Daniels have been re-admitted to the university, Notre Dame confirmed to WNDU on Wednesday.
"The university recently granted readmission to a group of individuals, and that group included student-athletes Jerian Grant and DaVaris Daniels. Both will return to Notre Dame beginning with summer school next month," a Notre Dame spokesman said in a statement.
Both Grant and Daniels were removed from the university for the spring semester due to academic issues.
Grant left the basketball program during the season and the Irish never recovered without their top story, finishing below .500 for the first time in the Mike Brey era.
Daniels did not miss any game action, but being out for the spring semester caused him to miss spring practice and the ability to get re-connected with quarterback Everett Golson who had missed the whole fall semester due to an academic suspension of his own.
Daniels will be Notre Dame's go to play maker at wide receiver this upcoming season and Grant will unquestionably be the basketball team's top star for the 2014-2015 season.
