Benton Harbor Whirlpool is joining dozens of other companies calling for state policies banning discrimination based on sexual orientation.

It's all part of the 2014 Turnaround Michigan report, released by Business Leaders for Michigan.

According to our reporting partners at the Herald-Palladium, Michigan law currently allows employment discrimination based on sexual orientation.

Eighty of Michigan's top businesses and organizations are behind the report, which also calls for attracting more educated workers and skilled immigrants to the state.
