It's all about the NCAA Tournament.
For Notre Dame, despite the great regular seasons they've had over the years---they just haven't been able to get out of the opening weekend and for the last two seasons, Notre Dame not able to get out of the opening round.
The Irish were embarrassed Friday night in an 18-point loss in Daytona and now Notre Dame is left wondering--where does it go from here.
"I mean I don't know," Irish forward Tom Knight says. "Every year, we come in with expectations and we just haven't met them the last few years. We feel like we are prepared for it. We do so strongly in the regular season, but in the post-season--something just happens. We have to figure it out and I think we will."
So how do the Irish bounce back from this and build towards next year.
"I'm not really sure right now," irish guard Eric Atkins says. "We're going to have to make some changes. I think we will do those things."
"We gotta learn from it," says Irish forward Pat Connaughton. "It's not something we're going to figure out today or tomorrow or the next day. We have to take to every work out, every team meeting we have and we gotta feel it and bounce back."
Notre Dame will undergo an identity change next season as it leaves the Big East for the Atlantic Coast Conference.
"We're going into a new league--who are we in a new league?" Irish coach Mike Brey asks. "That's the first thing we have to think about it. Before we think about who we are in the NCAA Tournament, we have to think about who we are in this new league. That's a new challenge to start to think about now that it's officially over with the Big East."
