A well-known Michiana attorney is a huge Notre Dame Football fan. So huge, he convinced a judge to change a court date so he could attend the National Title Game in Miami.
Dan Pfeifer is a partner in the Law Firm of Pfeifer, Morgan and Stesiak. He recently filed a motion with a federal judge to change the date of a pre-trial conference in a lawsuit he filed because it fell on Monday, January 7.
That's the same day Notre Dame plays Alabama for the National Title.
In his petition to the Judge, Pfeifer says he is an alumnus of the university and found out on December 11 that he won tickets to the game in the ticket lottery.
The filing goes on to say quote, "The last time that Notre Dame played for a national championship was 24 years ago. At this rate, it is likely that the game on January 7 will be the last day Notre Dame plays for a championship in counsel's lifetime."
Federal Judge Rudy Lozano, granted the request and moved the pre-trial conference to January 4.
Judge Lozano noted he is an Indiana grad, and wasn't quote, "particularly sympathetic to this request." Judge Lozano says he did so, however, because he didn't want to "get coal in his stocking."
