BERRIEN COUNTY Funding is in jeopardy for water testing in multiple Michiana beach towns.

In past years, Berrien County has provided money for cities like St. Joseph to test for e-coli and other bacteria, but the county says its health department won’t have the funds this year.

Silver Beach is just one area beach slated for testing, along with Hagar Township, Warren Dunes and New Buffalo, according to The Herald Palladium.

The city is now looking into ways to pay for water testing on its own.
