Warsaw man charged with stealing $25,000 from Eagles Lodge

A Warsaw man is accused of stealing more than $25,000 from a local Eagles Lodge when he was secretary there.

Carl Rensberger is charged with two counts of felony theft. Warsaw police say that for 2 years, he was taking the money for personal use, including cash from a private ATM on the Eagle’s Lodge property on West Center Street.

The charges come after police did an audit on the funds.

Rensberger was arrested and taken to jail on Thursday. He was being held on $5,000 bond.

According to police, this is the third major employee related theft investigated by Warsaw detectives in the past 6 months. The former circulation manager of the Warsaw Times Union and the former executive director of the Kosciusko Board of Realtors were already arrested in separate incidents and their cases are pending.
