Warsaw A Warsaw woman is in stable condition after allegedly being stabbed in her stomach. Around 8:35 p.m. Warsaw police and EMS were called to the 400 block of S. High Street for a stabbing and burglary.

When officers arrived they found a 54-year-old woman lying in the entry of her upstairs apartment.

She was treated and taken to the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne by ambulance.

The victim told police that she had just returned home, unlocked her apartment, and carried two bags inside to her kitchen and went back out to retrieve a bottle of Pepsi.

She then saw two men in her apartment who demanded her wallet and car keys. The victim alleged that she gave them her wallet and as she was searching for her keys, she was stabbed.

The woman says the men fled south from the apartment wearing ski masks, black clothes and gloves.

Officers searched the area with K9’s and told people to stay inside their homes. This incident is still under investigation.
