Warsaw, Ind. A Warsaw man is dead after a farming accident Sunday afternoon.

It happened in the 1600 block of east County Road 225 South, just south of Winona Lake around 6:48 p.m.

Investigators say 65-year-old John Bud Elliott was crushed between hydraulic bucket arms and the body of a skid-loader. Kosciusko County Deputy Coroner Tony Ciriello says Elliott may have been exiting the front of the skid-loader, when his clothing got caught on the operating lever, and pinched him between the machinery.

Elliott died of blunt force trauma to the chest.

He had originally left his home around 6 p.m. and had not returned for dinner, when his wife went to look for him and found him.

The incident is under investigation, but is initially being listed as a farming incident.
