A 24-year-old Warsaw man has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, a class B felony, after allegedly stabbing another man.
Around 1:25 Monday afternoon Warsaw Police were called to the Kosciusko Community Hospital for a stabbing that happened on E. Winona Avenue in Warsaw.
Police say an ex-boyfriend saw his former girlfriend and her new boyfriend parked in the 700 block of E. Winona Avenue. He then stopped to confront them.
The female was positioned between the ex-boyfriend and the new boyfriend when the suspect reached in the pick-up truck and cut the victim with a razor blade on the right side of his face and head.
The girlfriend drove the victim to Kosciusko Community Hospital while the suspect fled.
Nappanee Police eventually located the vehicle and the suspect. 24-year-old Donaldo Velasquez, of Warsaw, was taken into custody. Velasquez was transported back to Warsaw and admitted his involvement in an interview with police. He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on a class B felony charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and is being held on a Prosecutor’s hold with no bond.
The victim, a 29 year old male, from Warsaw was treated at KCH with non-life threatening injuries.
