Warsaw man dies from injuries after jumping out of a moving truck

A Warsaw man, who's been hospitalized since jumping out of a moving vehicle earlier this year, has died from his injuries.

It happened back on January 18 along County Road 800 West, just south of County Road 850 North. That is south of Nappanee.

Police say Jerry Belcher, 21, got into an intense argument with his father while they were heading to work together.

As the dispute continued to heat up, Belcher suddenly opened his door and jumped out of the pickup truck. He was airlifted to South Bend's Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Now, more than two months later, Belcher has succumbed to his injuries. He died Monday at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne from complications of his traumatic brain injury.
