Warsaw Police have arrested the driver charged in a hit-and-run accident that killed a horse.
Francisco Gonzalez, 24, was arrested without incident at the Shamrock Mobile Home Park in Warsaw Tuesday afternoon.
Police say late Saturday night, he was driving on Sheldon Street in Warsaw, when he crossed into the other lane and hit a horse and buggy head on. Five Amish teens were thrown from the buggy, but had minor injuries. The horse died instantly.
Gonzalez fled the scene, but was later found and taken to the hospital. He was treated and released before he could be taken into custody.
Gonzalez is now being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on several charges.
