A Warsaw man is accused of engaging in illegal sexual acts with a 14-year-old mentally and physically handicapped girl.

Robert Haywood, 77, of Warsaw was arrested at home on a warrant of allegedly inappropriate and illegal sexual acts with the teen. Charges have now been filed. Haywood was booked in the Kosciusko County jail.

A three month investigation was launched into the possible activities going on under Pastor Robert Haywood’s leadership at Harvest Time Ministries Church as a pastor.

Through the investigation it appears sexual touching occurred in the basement of the church in mid-June. Then a second incident occurred that involved fondling and alleged intercourse that happened in a vehicle in a wooded area in Warsaw later on in June.

The victim has significant mental and physical disabilities, which upgraded the criminal charges.

Haywood faces three felony counts, two are sexual misconduct with a minor, and the third is sexual battery.
