Summer's approaching and that means more and more mopeds will ride across the roads.

Indiana State Police are reminding drivers to abide by all the state's moped laws.

This is according to our reporting partners at WKVI radio

Drivers need to be at least 15-years-old and have a Bureau of Motor Vehicles issued license or a state identification card.

As long as the moped falls under certain guidelines, a motorcycle license is not needed.

Operators under 18-years-old must wear a helmet and eye gear at all times. Mopes are not allowed on sidewalks or interstate highways.

Also, make sure your headlights and tailights are on 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise. If they aren't on, drivers can face punishments such as a $150 fine.
