Walmart locked down over possible kidnapping

ELKHART Shoppers at WalMart on old U.S. 20 in Elkhart County got quite the scare when the store went into lockdown for a possible kidnapping case.

A woman who had reported her 10-month-old child missing on Monday, called police around 4 Tuesday afternoon, saying the abductor might be at the Walmart. The company locked the store down until police arrived.

Elkhart County Sheriff’s Capt. Jim Bradberry tells the Elkhart Truth the kidnapping was really more of a custody violation. The child was not hurt.
