A local business is encouraging customers to follow their head, and their sweet tooth on Election Day.
The Dainty Maid Bakery in downtown South Bend is giving people the chance to vote a month before the election takes place.
Instead of casting a ballot at the polls, people can buy a cookie representing their presidential preferences. Dainty Maid Bakery is featuring sugar cookies with both Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama’s faces on them.
The proceeds from these two dollar cookies will go to the Robert I. Miller Senior Veteran’s Center. Dainty Maid’s owner David Hab says, “What could be more worthy than our veterans and for the sacrifices they've made and we like to see our local veterans are recognized.”
Whether or not cookie sales reflect actual polling numbers, at Dainty Maid, President Obama has a commanding lead of 32 to 7 one day of sales.
