SOUTH BEND, Ind. Family and friends gathered to remember a 21-year-old man who was shot to death, reportedly after playing a drinking game.

Christopher White was killed on February 23 around 1:30 a.m in the 1800 block of Pulaski Street in South Bend.

A vigil was held in his remembrance Thursday.

Prosecutors say White was playing a drinking game with Jacob Saye, 22, when they decided to play "Russian Roulette" with a semi-automatic handgun.

At the end of the game Saye placed a handgun against White's temple and pulled the trigger.

"Every death is a tragedy -- and this one even more so as it was so much a game,” said Rev. Tina Velthuizen. “And with the alcohol involved it certainly raises lots of concerns in our lives. May his soul and the souls of all who have departed, through the mercies of God, rest in peace.”

Saye has been charged with murder.

His trial is scheduled to begin in August.
