One year ago an Elkhart girl was shot and killed during a home invasion. On Monday night, the community comes together to remember her with an anniversary vigil.
No arrests have been made in the shooting death of Kristyana Jackson, 7, which happened last August. Two men broke into her home, shooting both her and her father.
While the investigation continues, Jackson’s family and friends continue to keep her memory alive. This past weekend, a yard sale was held in her name with most of the money going to her school, Mary Daly.
Monday’s vigil for Kristyana Jackson is at 7 p.m. at the family’s home at 720 Kilbourn St. in Elkhart.
All are welcome to attend in honor of Jackson. Folks at the vigil will light candles and release balloons in Jackson’s name.
