WARSAW, Ind.--- We're learning new details about a car found submerged in a Kosciusko County lake.
According to Stacey Page Online, a park employee discovered the vehicle in Warsaw's Center Lake early Thursday morning. It was located about 120 feet off the shore.
The vehicle was a 2008 Subaru Forester. Police soon found out it was driven by 20-year-old Ava Donovan.
Donovan told police she was driving around, messing with her phone and did not see the lake as she drove north on Buffalo Street sometime between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m.
Donovan told police she had left her apartment at Kuder Estates in Warsaw after fighting with her boyfriend. She also admitted to consuming a can of beer before getting behind the wheel while her boyfriend slept.
Donovan also informed police that she was able to get out of her car and swim to shore, before walking home from Center Lake.
She also let officers know, once she arrived back to her apartment, she began taking shots of Jack Daniels, in order to calm her nerves.
Wet clothing was found during a search of Donovan's apartment.
During questioning, officers gave Donovan a breathalyzer test. Her blood alcohol level came in at .031 percent.
Upon learning her results, Donovan asked to leave.
Donovan's mother, Lisa Donovan of Newberry, Fla., was the actual owner of the vehicle, and damage estimates place the cost of the damage to the vehicle at around $10,000.
