VIDEOS: Gates close at the 2014 Elkhart County 4-H Fair

Nearly 270,000 people walked through the gates, according to numbers released by the fair.

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County 4-H Fair has finished up for the year.

Nearly 270,000 people walked through the gates, according to numbers released by fair officials.

Here's how that compares to recent years:

• 2014: 269,064

• 2013: 280,175

• 2012: 244,883

• 2011: 235,495

• 2010: 255,315

• 2009: 258,832.

Officials say the fair's 4-H livestock auction set a new record with a preliminary total of $1,156,763.
