Elkhart More Michiana schools could soon serve free meals to all of their students.

That's thanks to a new program from the USDA , for schools with a high proportion of students in need.

If a school has at least 40% of students on the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program, that school can apply for a program that provides meals for every one of their students.

According to our reporting partners at the Elkhart Truth, at least five schools in Elkhart Qualify.

The USDA program is called the Community Eligibility Provision.
