The Bonine House, part of the Underground Railroad Society of Cass County, is celebrating the holidays for the first time this year.
The historic renovated home is offering an open house, free to the public, over the weekend. Tours are Friday through Sunday from 2-8 p.m. Organizers say the event will be family friendly. Children will be able to see Santa and Mrs. Clause as part of the tour.
The URSCC committee and members from the community made the project happen. The home, built in the mid 1840's was bare with no furniture before the community stepped forward to donate holiday decorations, including 19 Christmas trees.
The open house is free, but the URSCC is hoping for donations to continue rennovations to the outside of the home.
