Authorities are revealing more information in the case of a mother who lost track of her baby over the weekend.

According to probable cause documents filed today, Heather Gipperich, 31, took her 9-month-old daughter with her to buy heroin.

The mother and baby were originally reported missing, but then Gipperich showed up without the baby.

Gipperich later told police she got high, and left her baby with a woman she had just met.

Police found the child safe with the woman, in Elkhart.

Gipperich could now face charges of neglect, and taking the baby with her to buy drugs.

Her initial hearing is set for Friday.
