A man who pleaded guilty to killing a former Washington High School student was sentenced Tuesday.
Tyree Scott, 23, pleaded guilty in January to the murder of 18-year-old Christopher Simril.
Scott and Simril were meeting at Walker Park for a drug exchange in February 2012 when things turned hostile and Simril was killed.
Scott was charged with felony murder and attempted robbery.
With his plea deal, the robbery charge was dropped.
Scott has been sentenced to 50 years in prison.
