Bring on the burgers!
The Northern Indiana Burger Wars is in full swing.
The contest recently determined the top burger in seven northern Indiana counties, plus a wildcard. These eight burgers than began going head-to-head earlier this month. Now, the contest is down to the final four.
Two Michiana restaurants have burgers that are still in the running.
In Elkhart County, the Stella Moo Burger is representing the Flippin’ Cow.
The burger features two steak patties, smoked bacon and brisket, as well as onion straws pepper-jack cheese and a special barbecue sauce.
“My son and I were real creative with our menu,” Flippin’ Cow owner, Cam Snyder said.
“Something a little bit different that you couldn’t get at every burger joint," he added.
But his burger has some pretty stiff competition.
The Becky Burger from the View Tavern in South Bend is also making mouths water.
This dish is made up of Swiss, American cheese, onion, barbecue sauce, and bacon.
Ian Kollar is the mastermind behind the grill at the View Tavern. He says advancing in the Burger Wars has been an exciting time for the restaurant.
"It's been overwhelming the last two to three weeks for us. We've been really slammed. It's been phenomenal the kind of support we've gotten from South Bend and St. Joseph County,” Kollar said.
“Lots of new people, new faces we haven’t seen before. It’s neat to get a new crowd coming into your place,” he added.
