BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A trial date has been set for a man accused in a Benton Township gunfight that injured a 12-year-old girl.
Jakeeme Griffin, 24, is charged with assault with the intent to murder and other firearms charges.
He was allegedly shooting at some men outside a house on April 18 when one of them fired back.
According to our reporting partners at the Herald Palladium, the bullet went into a home on Harbor Court, and hit the girl.
Her injuries were not life threatening, but Griffin and Juan Hassel junior, 18, were arrested.
Griffin's trial is set for August 5.
Hassel is negotiating a plea deal.
