Jury selection began Monday in the child neglect trial of Dellia Castile
Castile faces three counts of Neglect of a Dependent.
Castile is the grandmother of Tramelle Sturgis, 10, who was beaten to death at the hands of his father in November 2011.
The fatal beating took place in the basement of Castile's South Bend home on West Washington Street, where Tramelle and his father were living.
Charges allege that Castile knew about the beatings, and tried to cover for her son.
