The trial began Monday for a South Bend man accused of fatally shooting two people last year.
Dabian Boyd, 18, faces two counts of murder in the deaths of his cousin, 22-year-old Mercede Newbill, and his best friend, 21-year-old Kalyn Farmer. Both victims were shot and killed last May.
Farmer was found by a passerby, who dropped him off at the hospital, where later died. After Farmer's death, tips led police to the intersection of Napier and McPherson on South Bend's West Side.
That's where they found Newbill's body inside a parked car.
