If you're planning on heading towards the Windy City this weekend, or even Friday, riding the South Shore line out of South Bend won't be an option.

The tracks in Hudson Lake still need to be fixed, after a garbage truck got stuck under an underpass Thursday.

The truck was too tall for the 11’ 8” clearing, and became wedged under the Point Road/Lake Park Avenue underpass.

The driver suffered only minor injuries to his face. But both the bridge and the track were damaged.

The South Shore will continue to bus passengers between South Bend and Michigan City while crews work to make repairs. But officials recommend riders drive to the Carroll Avenue stop in Michigan City and board the train there.

We'll continue to give you updates on the repairs.
