St. Joseph County, Ind. Police are on scene in St. Joseph County at a crash on the bypass involving two semis.
The accident happened shortly after 11 Wednesday morning in the area of Cedar Road. That's near the Elm Road exit.
One semi was heading eastbound when it was rear ended by another semi. The semi that rear ended the other semi then struck the center concrete barrier and received extensive damage to the cab. The driver of this semi was transported to to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Westbound lanes are open but the eastbound lanes are still closed as they cleanup from the accident. Officials say it's going to take a while to clear the scene and are asking you to avoid the area.
One of the trucks was hauling paint, and paint is dripping from the semi. It's unknown how many gallons spilled. Hazmat has been called to the scene.
