ST. JOSEPH COUNTY Ten St. Joseph County dining establishments have been selected as part of the South Bend Foodie Trail, determined by the editors of Midwest Living magazine in partnership with Visit South Bend Mishawaka.
“We’re very excited to debut the new South Bend Foodie Trail,” says Rob DeCleene, executive director of Visit South Bend Mishawaka. “There’s a lot of great dining options throughout our communities and this trail will lead visitors to some of the best and, hopefully, help shape a great experience in our destination in the process.”
Midwest Living scouts visited roughly 20 eateries around the community and narrowed the list down based on food and service quality, as well as the ambiance of the restaurant.
The top ten restaurants include: LaSalle Grill, Sorin’s, The Mark Dine & Tap, Temper Grille, Corndance Tavern, Zing Japanese Fusion, West End Bakery, Café Navarre, Fiddler’s Hearth and Moser’s Austrian Café.
“We’re honored to be included,” says Carol Meehan, co-owner of Fiddler’s Hearth. “We always knew there was a goldmine for dining here, and in downtown South Bend.”

The Foodie Trail will serve as Visit South Bend Mishawaka’s primary marketing campaign for the summer, with ads running in the Chicago Tribune and other print pieces, with social media and online promotions taking place throughout the summer months, including across the Midwest Living & Meredith Media digital network.
