A tire recycling firm is providing some traction to Elkhart County's economic comeback. Scientific Developments Inc. plans on opening a factory in Elkhart in early 2013.
SDI is based in Oregon, and makes highway products, like speed bumps and traffic cones from recycled tires. SDI plans on hiring 11 workers in Elkhart by 2015, after setting up operations on Gateway Court.
