South Bend welcomed three young adults Thursday night who will spend the next few months working to develop new technologies for the city.
It is part of the Code for America fellowship program, which was founded in 2009.
The fellows will have a one-year residency in South Bend, which they will use to gather information about the city and its residents. They will use what they learned to help develop a new program to help aide the city in some way.
“Fellows work with the city to develop some piece of technology that either helps the city work better or connect with citizens better and just overall brings the power of web technology to city government,” says David Guarino a Code for America Fellow.
“Over the course of the year we'll be developing that and having constant feedback with the City and stakeholders and in October we'll come back and hand something off,” explains Reed Duecy-Gibbs a Code for America Fellow.
