Three children to not be charged for setting playground on fire

South Bend, Ind. Three children who confessed to setting a school playground on fire will not face charges.

They're responsible for the estimated $60,000 in damage at Harrison Elementary.

Two five year olds and a six year old were playing with a lighter, setting paper and ground up rubber on fire, when the blaze started almost two weeks ago. When they knew they couldn't put it out, they ran.

The police department has decided there was no criminal intent, and has closed the case. Captain Phil Trent says it's very difficult to assign fault to children that young.
