People downtown were able to take a break from the cold to stroll past some original artwork at the Holiday Art Walk.

Ten downtown galleries featured the work of local artists, opening their doors to customers and art enthusiasts who are looking for something special and unique from traditional paintings to cutting edge art and jewelry.

There was no shortage of variety or talent.

Organizers said the event brings people together who share a passion for art and culture.

Owner of the Circa Arts Gallery Kathy Reddy White said, "You really do get a sense of community because people come in with a lot of anticipation and we do up the food and music and just the whole feeling is very, very fun."

This was the 6th year for the Holiday Art Walk.

Some of the art galleries participating included Junk Evolution, Blue Gallery, and the South Bend Museum of Art.
