Teen charged in double shooting and burglary

ELKHART A teenager has been formally charged for shooting and injuring two people outside an apartment complex last week.

19-year-old Thomas Harper faces two counts of burglary resulting in bodily injury. If convicted, he faces up to 100 years in prison.

According to The Elkhart Truth, Harper is accused of firing shots at two men last Thursday in the 1400 block of Franklin Avenue in Elkhart.

The men had heard a commotion in an upstairs apartment and went to check it out. One man was then hit with three bullets in the knee. The other was shot once in the back. Both men are recovering from their injuries.
