A twelve year age gap may seem like a lot, but that didn't stop the Niles High School Seniors from making a stop at the elementary school on Wednesday.
The idea of the visit is to give the newest Niles Vikings a chance to hear from the eldest in the ranks.
The seniors gave the youngsters shirts welcoming them to the school system and a few positive words of advice.
The drop-in didn't last long, but the principal says it should create a lasting effect.
"Basically because it's bringing the schools together in the community,” says Principal David Eichenberg. “We had seniors actually out at all of our elementary schools Wednesday where we have kindergarten classes presenting the shirts, so just a good opportunity to bring our schools within the district together."
This is the first year Niles Community Schools hosted the event but participants say it's something they want to continue from year to year.
