MISHAWAKA A man accused of begging for money and scaring women in parking lots has been charged for panhandling.

50-year-old John Hertel is accused of asking a woman for money as she got out of her car at Hobby Lobby in Mishawaka back in January. She says he blocked her in, and she had to close his truck door in order to get by him. He then reportedly asked her to look inside his truck because it was making a noise.

Hertel is also accused of panhandling in a T.G.I. Friday’s parking lot in Mishawaka on March 6.

He faces two counts of panhandling, a class C misdemeanor.
