A ruling by the Supreme Court could mean a new sentence for some local teenagers.

The Supreme Court ruled yesterday that underage convicts should have at least a chance at freedom.

In Berrien County, Dakotah Eliason is serving a life sentence for killing his step-grandfather when he was 14.

Berrien County Prosecutor Art Cotter told our reporting partners at WSJM that Eliason and several others may be entitled to a resentencing because of the new ruling.
