Thousands of people came together on Saturday to support men and women who were injured while protecting our country.
The 4th Annual Support our Troops Festival at the Michigan American Legion in Baroda is meant to celebrate, thank, and help those heroes.
Event organizers say they are trying to foster a successful and well-adjusted generation of wounded veterans.
All of the proceeds of Saturday’s event go to organizations that serve that vision of providing meals and basic comforts to wounded veterans in VA hospitals.
The group also supports organizations that help veterans return to the real world, after the hospital.
They raised more than $50,000 at least year's festival and they suspect that number is even higher this year.
The event kicked off with great food, drinks and entertainment, including an Elvis impersonator, a car show, and even helicopter rides.
A dance and fireworks wrapped up the celebration of our nation's vets.
