The west wing of a former Elkhart hotel was damaged by fire on Sunday, and investigators are still looking for a cause.

What is now known as the Belvedere Inn caught fire Sunday morning in the 3000 block of Belvedere Rd. Firefighters had the blaze under control within three hours. In a report, firefighters said the fire had multiple points of origin.

The Belvedere Inn is owned by Community South Bank. It was previously a Ramada Inn and used to also house a restaurant.

The building has been vacant since 2009.

Firefighters have yet to determine whether there was any human activity at the building before the fire started.
