Summer meals program kicks off Monday in South Bend

Monday begins the free summer meal program in South Bend. The program is a joint effort by the school corporation, South Bend Parks and Rec and the Department of Agriculture. Kids ages 1 to 18 are eligible.

There will be activities going on at several locations like crafts or some type of sports activity, like soccer or tennis. Some sites will also have breakfast and snacks available.

The meals must be eaten in the park. Parents may bring their own lunch with them if they'd like to eat with their children.

We have a link to a list of locations on the Big Red Bar, including contact information, if you have any questions.
