Families looking for a mini-vacation this summer don’t have to go far. Indiana’s capital city has a lot to offer, including the Indianapolis Zoo.
The zoo opened a new exhibit this year called the Butterfly Kaleidoscope. It features 40 species of exotic butterflies, free-flying with fluttering wings all around.
“We do multiple releases, and that’s really a good time to be in the conservatory,” Carla Knapp says. “Have your camera ready because one might land on you!”
Other interactive activities include the shark touch tank. Indiana’s zoo is home to the largest in the nation. It’s also the only place in the Midwest where zoo-goers can get in the water with dolphins. They also offer free dolphin shows every day.
