Warsaw’s Street Department superintendent has resigned after 22 years on the job.
According to Stacey Page Online, Lacy Francis stepped down over $150,000 in billing irregularities, dating back to 2011. A contractor apparently billed the city that amount for repairs to aging storm water lines, but the service was never performed. The name of that company has not been released, but officials say it is not a local company.
The city plans to seek restitution. It is not yet clear if there was any criminal activity on the part of either party.
